2010 Annapolis Valley Events and Sport Tourism Association Awards

The second annual Annapolis Valley Events and Sport Tourism Association (AVESTA) awards will be handed out on October 29, 2010. These awards celebrate the achievements of Valley events and festivals; recognizing the important positive economic and social impact these organizations bring to the region. The awards include:

• Event Legacy Award – In recognition of an annual community festival or event
providing long lasting benefits to a community in the Annapolis Valley.

• Sport Legacy Award - In recognition of an annual sporting event providing long lasting benefits to a community in the Annapolis Valley.

• Venue Award – In recognition of a venue or facility that supports major sport or
community events in the Annapolis Valley.

• Event of the Year Award – In recognition of an organization or committee that hosts a non annual event in the given year in a community or communities in the Annapolis Valley.

The general public is invited to nominate candidates for these awards at www.avesta.ns.ca until September 17, 2010, when nominations close. A judging panel will evaluate the nominees in each category and the winners will be announced at the annual AVESTA luncheon on October 29, 2010 at the Old Orchard Inn at 11:30 a.m. Tickets for this event are $10.00 and can be booked through avesta@kingsrda.ca.
