Health & Education

Education is a major contributor to the culture and economy in Kings County. The people of Kings are proud of their educational system at all levels. Higher learning was a priority before our ancestors first chopped the trees to begin building Acadia University in 1838. Acadia has been named several times by Maclean's Magazine as "Canada's Top All-round Undergraduate University by Reputation." Acadia's new K.C. Irving Environmental Science Centre and Harriet Irving Botanical Garden - a meeting place for everyone, is now open.

Kingstec Community College provides training in a wide variety of occupations.

The Annapolis Valley Regional School Board (AVRSB) is the school board responsible for all the elementary and high schools in Kings County.

The Valley Regional Hospital features top notch health care in a centralized locale for all communities.
