What is the RDA?

Regional Development Authorities, or RDAs, were first established in 1994 as the coordinating bodies charged with leading economic development at the local level.  For more information, click here

RDAs are tasked with providing leadership and coordinating activities of a local development groups, and in some cases, undertake initiatives to accomplish regional goals.  Some activities carried out by regional development authorities are:
•  Preparing economic planning strategies and operational plans;
•  Identifying opportunities and coordinating feasibility assessments;
•  Collecting and distributing information;
•  Building capacity;
•  Promoting and marketing;
•  Counselling business; and
•  Providing assistance to other organizations.

The Kings Regional Development Agency (Kings RDA) is the regional development authority for Kings County, operating since 1995.  It is a community-driven, non-profit society working with municipal, provincial, federal and community partners to make Kings County a better place to live, visit and do business.  For more information about the Kings RDA, click here.
