The Eco-Kings Community Challenge, part of the federal One-Tonne Challenge Program, was hosted by the Kings RDA in the 2005-2006 fiscal year.  The Eco-Kings Action Team is a special committee that was formed to oversee the Eco-Kings Community Challenge.  Initiatlly, the One-Tonne Challenge was proposed as a multi-year venture, but due to the change in the government, unfortunately, the program was terminated.

Despite the loss of the One-Tonne Challenge program, the legacy of the program will continue with the Eco-Kings Action Team, which will meet periodically to fulfill the local need for similar programs in the area.  The mandate and focus of the Eco-Kings Action Team will be retooled to include other locally relevant sustainability issues and environmental networking as deemed necessary.
